Inventory Control Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY This position controls and monitors freight and inventory levels using the most cost-effective methods. RESPONSIBILITIES + Provide for monitoring and inspection of produce at the dock to ensure quality standards are met and quantity is correct. + Responsible for all receiving and inventory adjustments to assure correctness and entry into the mainframe. + Accountable for daily physical cycle counts on frozen, cooler, and dry products. + Liable for the slotting and assigning of all new items in the warehouse, assuring the correctness of the information in the mainframe and that warehouse slots are labeled correctly. + Keep warehouse manager informed, as needed, of potential problems and changes. + Responsible for notifying customer service of potential outs. + Complete inventory and warehouse report daily. + Manage and direct all physical inventories as called for under SYGMA guidelines and directives. + Works closely with all departments regarding merchandise received, new items, all inventories, to assure a continuous flow of information. + Adhere to cycle count program. + Adhere to hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) and material safety data sheet (MSDS) guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS Education + High school diploma/GED. + Prefer 4-year college degree in a related discipline. Experience + 3 years of inventory control experience and/or warehouse experience in food distribution. + 1-year experience on IBM AS400. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations + Warehouse equipment and possibly forklift. Physical Demand + Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks. + You must be able to communicate clearly with shippers and employees. + Physical inventories involve periods of prolonged standing. Mental/Visual Demand + You must be able to read text that is close and at a distance with or without correction. + In addition, must be able to perform a manual task, hear, sit, reach, lift, bend, and interact with others. Working Condition + Activities occur both inside (protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside. + An employee is subjected to extreme cold while supervising in the freezer. + Hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and working in high places. Equipment Operated + A calculator, copier, fax, PC, Microsoft Office applications, telephone and mainframe printer are typical equipment used in this position. + You may also be required to operate a pallet jack and forklift.
