Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Employee Type Full-Time Non-Exempt Description The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides skilled nursing care to all La Hacienda Patients, under the direct supervision of the RN Charge Nurse. Administers medication and treatments to all patients according to policies and procedures, and documents all procedures, observations, interventions, assessments, etc. in the patient's medical record under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse. Provides direct patient care to assigned patients in the Special Care Unit, under the direct supervision of the RN. LVN's are responsible for accurate documentation of medications, treatments and supplies in patient charts. Requirements Currently licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas. Must have current CPR Certification. (Will provide CPR Certification Class, if needed) Minimum of one year experience in general nursing and/or one year experience in psychiatric/substance abuse nursing preferred. CARN Certification is desirable. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to walk across campus multiple times during a shift as required. Must be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift up to 20 pounds.
