Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

As a General Production Worker, you will contribute to various stages of the production line, assisting with batch preparations, handling physical tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of equipment. This role requires attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist operators with prep work and batch work on multiple lines.
• Perform physical tasks such as weighing products, setting up lines, and staging products.
• Make and measure batches, weigh out liquid products, and document all orders.
• Calculate batch sizes and work with drums and totes for product filling.
• Lift and stage boxes, palletize and wrap boxes and containers.
• Perform quality inspections by counting, sorting, and sizing products.
• Place tags and labels on products and boxes.
• Pull cases off the line and stack them on pallets.
• Wrap and stage cases and boxes.
• Engage in housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.
• Flexibly move between packaging and formulation tasks as needed.

• Experience in manufacturing, particularly with chemicals, food, or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience working around machinery.
• Desire to progress to an operator role.
• Proficiency in weighing, staging, and handling chemicals.
• Strong mechanical inclination.

• Experience in blending or packaging from food, pharmaceuticals, or chemical industries.
• Machine operating experience.
• Assistant experience in a similar role.

The work environment is set in an older manufacturing building in Chicago Heights, featuring more production lines than other locations. The facility is temperature-controlled, though it can get warmer with machinery running. The role requires working near kettles or packaging lines, and steel-toed boots are mandatory. Be prepared to work around chemicals (none harmful) and adapt to different tasks throughout the day. The 1st shift operates from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm, with potential overtime on Saturdays, and the 3rd shift starts Sunday night at 11:30 pm and ends at 8 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago Heights, IL.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.20/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
