Responsibilities
- Perform triage, establish initial priorities, and triage using established criteria; maintain clear, respectful communication with patients and families.
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments across all age groups; recognize life-threatening changes and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Deliver and monitor ED interventions (invasive and noninvasive) and administer medications per protocol; manage pain and safety.
- Prepare patients for procedures, coordinate tests and referrals, and provide discharge instructions and follow-up planning.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, delegate tasks appropriately, and uphold infection prevention and safety standards.
- Educate patients and families, document care accurately, and maintain patient understanding through updates and education boards.

Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI) required
- Minimum 2 years of ED acute hospital nursing experience
- NIHSS training or certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment; flexible scheduling as required
- Must be able to work in the ED setting and meet travel assignment requirements
