Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description
Aurora Pediatric Therapy and Integrative Health, recipient of the 2025 Branch Moms Community Favorite Award and a 2025 Naperville Magazine Top Three Physical Therapy Nominee, is seekinga dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Pediatric Therapy team in Naperville, IL. In this role, you will provide individualized speech, language, feeding, and swallowing services to infants, children, and adolescents with developmental delays, communication disorders, neurodevelopmental differences, and feeding challenges. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based, family-centered care that supports meaningful communication and functional outcomes.


Position Details

• Full-time, benefit-eligible position

• Starting at 30 hours per week, with anticipated growth to 40 hours per week

• Salary range: $36.05-$37.50 per hour
• Evening availability required three nights per week until 7:00 PM

• Saturday availability required two Saturdays per month

• Reports to: CEO or Pediatric Therapy Program Director
• Department: Outpatient Therapy

Experience and Skills
Position

The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats childhood disorders and neurodevelopmental differences with identified pathology related to speech, language, feeding, and swallowing mechanisms in alignment with the Speech-Language Pathology Scope of Practice as defined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Using an interprofessional practice model, the SLP serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting children and families through collaborative, individualized care.


Breakdown of Responsibilities

• 75-85% clinical and billable services

• 10% administrative responsibilities

• 5% internal and external community engagement

Essential Job Responsibilities

Clinical Services

• Provide one-on-one and group speech, language, feeding, and swallowing therapy in a structured clinical setting.

• Assess the needs of individuals with speech, language, feeding, and swallowing disorders and develop individualized treatment plans that best meet client and family needs.

• Schedule and participate in meetings with caregivers and key stakeholders, documenting discussions and progress in alignment with individualized goals and family priorities.

• Develop and implement strategies that support communication, feeding, and swallowing skills within natural learning environments.

• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed to maximize outcomes.

• Apply evidence-based practices to inform high-quality evaluations and therapeutic services.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to support holistic client outcomes.

• Foster positive relationships with clients, families, referral sources, physicians, and community partners.

• Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding treatment recommendations, progress, and home programming.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with physician orders, payer requirements, and organizational standards.

• Complete all clinical documentation and billing within 24 hours of service delivery.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, professional standards, and payer regulations.

Community Engagement

• Participate in community outreach and relationship-building events that strengthen awareness and accessibility of services.

• Contribute to organizational growth and community partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.

• Current Illinois Speech Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure.

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
• Strong Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates will be considered.

• One year of experience working with children with communication disorders, developmental delays, feeding difficulties, or neurodevelopmental differences preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Early Intervention (EI) credentialing preferred but not required.

• Experience working with children ages 0-5 preferred but not required.

• Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of experience with Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) and Natural Language Acquisition approaches preferred but not required.

• Ability to analyze assessment data and make informed clinical decisions.

• Strong understanding and application of evidence-based practice.

• Experience handling highly confidential information and maintaining regulatory compliance.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adjust communication style to meet client and caregiver needs.

• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills.

• Compassionate, family-centered approach to care and a willingness to connect with clients on a personal level.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and balance multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

• Ability to demonstrate integrity and accountability in work products and interactions with clients and staff.

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing organizational needs.

Physical Requirements

• Walking; standing and sitting for extended periods

• Bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and crawling

• Reaching overhead

• Frequent pushing and pulling of up to 30 pounds

• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds

• Frequent use of both hands and fine motor skills

• Near and far visual acuity

Work Environment

• Moderate noise levels consistent with pediatric therapy or classroom environment.

• Frequent interaction with children, caregivers, healthcare providers, and community partners.

• Work requires planning, independent judgment, adaptability, and effective communication in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Frequent collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to support exceptional client outcomes.

A reasonable estimate of the base rate range for this level is $36.05-$37.50 and includes other competitive benefits.
