Medical Technologist - Hematology (Night Shift)

Employment Type: Full-Time Work Setting: On-Site Location: Linden, NJ

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex hematology testing on clinical patient specimens
• Conduct CBCs, differentials, and hematology-related assays
• Support coagulation testing as required
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot hematology analyzers
• Validate and release accurate test results through the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Investigate abnormal results and perform corrective actions when needed
• Maintain quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) documentation
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory regulatory standards
• Collaborate with the night shift team to meet turnaround time expectations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory work environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in clinical hematology testing
• Strong knowledge of hematology workflows, instrumentation, and QC practices
• Experience working in a hospital or high-volume reference laboratory setting
• ASCP certification preferred (not mandatory)
• Ability to work independently and reliably during overnight shifts

Shift Schedule (Night Shift) - Tuesday to Saturday from 11 pm to 7:30 am

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 annually (competitive based on experience)
