Working at WestCoast Children's Clinic means being part of an organization that is client-centered, trauma-informed, collaborative, and committed to justice and equity.Position DetailsTitle: Staff AccountantClassification: Regular Full Time (1.0 FTE), ExemptLocation: Oakland, CARegular Work Schedule: Full time, M-FCompensation: Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.The Staff Accountant is a detail-driven finance professional responsible for executing core accounting functions with high precision and quality. Reporting to the Assistant Accounting Manager and Accounting Manager, this role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting team-wide efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Manage program-specific billing, including the preparation of monthly invoices and proactive follow-up on outstanding accounts receivableAccurately deposit and record all incoming cash receiptsRecord donations and generate monthly donation reports for reviewReconcile credit card expenses and assist cardholders with inquiriesReconcile assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure ledger accuracyVerify the accuracy of descriptions on Certificates of Insurance and distribute them to funders in a timely mannerProvide cross-functional support and backup coverage for Accounts Payable operations as neededPerform other related duties and special projects as assignedQualifications:At least two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably working with non-profits or healthcare clinics.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field preferred.Competencies:Strong understanding of the general ledger and accounts receivable.Familiarity with GAAP and understanding of the accounting receivable cycle.Demonstrates strong analytical skills.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong organizational skills.Experience with computerized accounting systems, preferably Abila MIP.Experience with G-Suite Applications.Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.Ability to prioritize and work accurately with close attention to detail, strong time management skills and an ability to work within defined deadlines.Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.Ability to work in-person at our Oakland, CA office (relocation assistance not provided)Why Work Here?Be part of a compassionate, driven team that is social justice-focused: We have several Staff Affinity Groups: BIPOC council, LGBTQIA+, Alianza Latine, Equity and Inclusion, and more!Serve vulnerable kids and their families and create positive changes in their livesAs a Joint Commission-accredited agency, we provide the highest standard of care and offer extensive clinical training and seminars led by field experts.
