IT Project Manager

GovCIO is currently hiring for an IT Project Manager to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Hampton, Va at Joint Base Langley-Eustis and will be a fully onsite position.ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in enterprise implementation planning, technical integration, and coordination across a DoD-classified enterprise network. The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering complex projects in secure environments, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and driving structured implementation activities from planning through sustainment. Key ResponsibilitiesManages the direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.Defines requirements and plans project lifecycle deployment.Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.Maintain structured project documentation, including charters, plans, briefings, risk registers, change requests, and executive status reportsMonitor progress against baselines and proactively identify risks, issues, and dependency conflicts across multiple enterprise workstreamsEnsure all project actions comply with DoD cybersecurity, accreditation, and configuration management requirementsServe as a liaison between technical teams and leadership, translating complex technical considerations into clear operational impactsConducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking, analysis and reporting. producing top quality products for the customer is vital. Strong problem solving and good communication skillsAbility to research and choose the best, technically feasible solution that meets customer requirements Experience with agile or other project management methodologiesA collaborative mindset and ability to build strong working relationshipsProactive approach to anticipating project needs and solving challengesFlexibility and adaptability when project requirements evolveQualificationsHigh School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills and ExperienceClearance: TS/SCI Managing multiple, complex, technical projectsPlanning and estimating work requirementsFamiliarity with DoD lifecycle processes, requirements management frameworks, and enterprise architecture principles.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical teamsDemonstrate experience creating or managing enterprise implementation plans for large technical deploymentsStrong understanding of enterprise networks, service integration, incident/service management, and secure IT operationsProficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence) DOD 8140 IAT II (Security+ CE,CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND) Preferred Skills and Experience Technical background in networking and systemsPMP or Agile certificationPMI-ACPExperience with large‑scale modernization efforts or cloud transition planning.Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements, RMF processes, and DoD architecture frameworksExperience working directly with PMOs or leading cross‑functional technical teamsBackground supporting highly regulated or classified environments such as AFSCIExperience with enterprise technical integration, transition planning, or large-scale modernization programs Experience with DOD Networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS)Posted Salary RangeUSD $115,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
