Consult Physiatrist

Carilion Clinic, a physician-led, multi-specialty clinic of 750+ physicians located in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a BE/BC Physiatrist to join our growing healthcare system. We have opportunities for experienced leaders and new graduates to work in a community and academic-focused collegial setting with flexibility to meet your professional satisfaction. A consult physiatrist primarily offers comprehensive rehabilitation consultations to patients in the inpatient setting, focusing on evaluating and managing a wide array of physical and functional impairments. They also conduct a select number of outpatient clinics, tailored to their specific areas of interest, allowing them to provide specialized care and follow-up services. The main objective of the consult physiatrist is to enhance patients' functional abilities, promote recovery, and improve their overall quality of life. In addition to these responsibilities, the consult physiatrist leads a team of two Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs). This leadership role involves coordinating the team's efforts to deliver high-quality consultants. The consult physiatrist provides guidance and support to the APPs, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances patient outcomes. The candidate is expected to apply for an academic appointment with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) and will be involved in teaching VTCSOM and visiting medical students and residents in our Graduate Medical Education programs.
