Location Hollywood, Florida Summary Shift is 4p-2a. Provides direct patient care in a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Evaluates learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and/or psychosocial support needs. Competencies Accountability, Customer Service, Development and Implementation of Plan of Care, Knowledge of Disease Process, Organization Skills (4), Patient and Family Centered Care, Patient Safety - Nursing, Problem Solving - Patient Care, Responding to Change, Standards of Behavior Education and Certification Requirements Accredited Program: Nursing (Required) Accredited certifications include BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Academy of Pediatrics/ American Heart Association) and state RN license (Florida). Additional certifications required: ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider, ACLS for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas. PALS required for pediatric areas (except NICU). NRP required for NICU. Fetal Monitoring certification required for L&D RNs. Additional Job Information Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and handle stressful environment. Must have at least one year of nursing experience. Specific credential requirements: see above. Newly licensed RNs have six months to obtain ACLS and/or PALS.
