Job Title: Caregiver/ Direct Support

We’re looking for kind-hearted, dedicated individuals to join our ‘ohana as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).In this meaningful role, you’ll provide support and guidance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. What You’ll Do

• Support residents with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication assistance
• Offer encouragement, emotional support, and genuine companionship
• Accompany residents on community outings and fun recreational activities
• Help build skills in communication, social interaction, and self-care
• Create and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment
• Document resident progress and communicate needs or concerns with care and professionalism
• Work alongside healthcare providers, families, and team members to develop and follow individualized care plans

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in caregiving or human services is a plus (but we’re happy to train the right person!)
• Strong communication and people skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• A compassionate, patient, and dependable spirit
• Ability to pass a background check
• CPR/First Aid and Medication Certification (training provided)
• Valid driver’s license with reliable, insured, and registered transportation

Our first program supports at-risk youth aging out of foster care and juvenile corrections in making the transition to adulthood. In 2013 Mana began offering mental health treatment and programs to these youth as well as to community members, furthering our commitment to promoting independence. In 2018 we expanded our services further adding Residential Habilitation (supported living) services aimed at supporting these clients with living as independently as possible in the community and their homes.
Our beliefs are defined by our name. “Mana” is a Hawaiian word that means “inner strength”. It's our goal to empower all of our participants to find their own strengths, build on those strengths and live a fulfilling life as independently as possible. Mana isn’t about becoming someone else; we are about supporting clients to find the best version of themselves.
