Industrial Maintenance Mechanic ( South Lakeland Area & Riverview)

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will troubleshoot and repair as well as perform preventative maintenance (PM) of plant or mine equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer/Mosaic’s standards in a safe and expedient manner. You will use hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic and/or electric tools, and precision measuring tools to make repairs or replace equipment including pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, fabrication, conveyors, large rotating equipment, draglines, and dredges. Class B Maintenance Mechanic: $30.00+/hr. Responsibilities Repair machinery and equipment in accordance with established job plans. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues. Perform emergency or off‑time repairs and lubricate/PM equipment. Assist with crane operations, rigging, and root‑cause failure analysis. Train and become certified to operate boom trucks, large forklifts, and aerial man lifts. Report safety, environmental, or operational issues to management. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred; Associate’s degree in vocational fields (Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist, Welding) preferred. Resume required. At least 4 years of related industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program. Phosphate industry experience preferred. Commercial driver’s license may be required. Basic computer and data entry skills. Good organizational skills and ability to work alone or in a team. Strict adherence to safety procedures. Ability to operate mobile equipment (boom truck, aerial lift, forklift). Physical ability to lift 25–50 lbs., climb stairs, work at heights, and operate in industrial environments. Successful completion of pre‑hire exams and ongoing training. Responsible for the safe storage, inspection, and use of tools and equipment. Physical Work Environment Work is frequently outdoors with temperatures from below 32°F to above 85°F. Must perform tasks without posing a direct threat to self or others. Ability to climb stairs, work at heights, distinguish colors, and hear. Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. unassisted regularly. Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills. Travel unassisted, use fine motor skills, wear respirator, work in tight spaces. Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required, and use standard safety equipment rated for 300 lbs or less.
