Licensed Mental Health Therapist for Culturally Diverse Outpatient Practice

Position Overview Safe Place Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This pivotal role will be instrumental in delivering high-quality mental health care to our diverse patient population in a remote outpatient setting. Work Environment This position allows for flexible remote work within a dynamic team structure, enabling you to engage in meaningful therapy from the comfort of your home while also collaborating with your colleagues in an outpatient office setting as needed. Our typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate the specific needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments that consider patients' individual histories and cultural contexts, and develop tailored treatment plans to address their unique needs. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while ensuring cultural responsiveness is incorporated into each session. Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at alleviating mental health issues and enhancing patients’ overall well-being. Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver integrated care and ensure comprehensive treatment approaches. Provide crisis intervention services to patients during emergencies, utilizing strong problem-solving skills and maintaining composure in high-stress situations. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available treatment options, empowering them to engage in their healing processes. Maintain up-to-date, secure, and confidential documentation in accordance with legal standards and ethical practices. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and cultural competence training to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge. Research and implement best practices in mental health care by staying informed on current literature and developing methodologies relevant to our client demographics. Patient Population / Client Focus Your expertise will focus on a diverse clientele, including individuals from varied ethnic backgrounds and those in the LGBTQ+ community. You will engage with patients who are facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues, all within a safe, affirming environment that promotes healing through understanding and respect. Qualifications A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of Florida. Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methods, emphasizing cultural competence. Proven experience in delivering therapy to diverse populations, with a focus on inclusivity in practice. Exceptional crisis intervention skills, allowing you to manage crisis situations with tact and professionalism. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively connect with and support patients from various backgrounds. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms. Previous experience leading group therapy sessions effectively. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
