Databricks is looking for a Staff Unified Communications Engineer to lead the evolution of our global communication and workplace technology infrastructure. This role is focused on delivering reliable, scalable, and high-quality communication systems while supporting rapid global office expansion.

You’ll operate at the intersection of enterprise communications, workplace technology, networking, and AV infrastructure—building the systems that keep employees and executives connected across offices worldwide. From new office launches to critical executive environments, you’ll help define the standards, infrastructure, and operational excellence that power communication at scale.

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong technical depth, executional excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

What You’ll Do

Lead Enterprise Communication Infrastructure

• Own the deployment, reliability, and evolution of enterprise voice, conferencing, and workplace communication systems
• Lead high-impact infrastructure initiatives supporting employees, executives, and global offices
• Ensure seamless communication experiences across conference rooms, executive spaces, and workplace environments

Drive Global Office Expansion

• Partner with PM, Workplace, Real Estate, Construction, Networking, and Facilities teams to support aggressive global office buildouts
• Lead communication and workplace technology deployments for new offices, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades
• Develop scalable standards for conference rooms, executive environments, and workplace communication systems
• Manage multiple concurrent deployments while maintaining operational excellence across existing offices

Operate at a Deep Technical Level

• Design and support enterprise voice and AV infrastructure connectivity, conferencing systems, and workplace integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex communication and media issues across global environments
• Build automation and operational tooling to improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency

Partner Across the Company

• Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Networking, Workplace, and Executive Support teams to define and deliver communication solutions
• Coordinate vendors, telecom providers, and integration partners to execute large-scale infrastructure projects

Raise the Bar

• Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, and quality of workplace communication experiences
• Create operational standards, documentation, and deployment playbooks that scale globally
• Mentor team members and help elevate engineering practices across the organization

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

8+ years supporting enterprise unified communications, workplace technology, or enterprise infrastructure environments

Strong expertise in:

• Enterprise voice and conferencing systems
• Conference room and workplace AV systems
• Networking fundamentals including QoS and media optimization
• Troubleshooting complex communication environments
• Supporting large-scale global environments and fast-paced growth
• Managing communication infrastructure for office buildouts and workplace deployments
• Automation and scripting tools
• Communication and stakeholder management skills
• BA/BS or equivalent practical experience

Staff-Level Signals

• You’ve led large-scale communication or workplace infrastructure initiatives
• You build scalable systems and operational standards across global environments
• You thrive in ambiguity and operate with high ownership and autonomy
• You proactively identify risks and drive reliability for business-critical systems

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting executive environments or large-scale conference room deployments
• Familiarity with enterprise AV design and workplace technology standards
• Relevant certifications in collaboration, networking, AV, or telecom technologies
• Experience with automation, observability, or Infrastructure-as-Code practices

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 1 Pay Range

$177,700—$244,300 USD
