Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex query development, performance tuning, and large-scale data transformations. Strong experience working with SQL Server environments, including database design, optimization, and administration concepts. Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, DTS, Informatica, or comparable platforms. Proven experience working within and modernizing legacy data environments, including mainframe or highly customized systems. Demonstrated ability to analyze, reverse-engineer, and document undocumented or poorly documented data flows. Experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and migration strategies Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and data quality best practices. Ability to work independently and take ownership in ambiguous, complex environments with limited documentation. Required Skills Strong SQL skills (this is a must – including complex queries, performance tuning, and data transformation). Experience working with SQL Server environments. Hands-on experience with ETL tools (SSIS, DTS, Informatica, or similar). Experience working in and modernizing legacy data environments. Ability to work independently in environments with limited documentation. Responsibilities Analyze and reverse-engineer existing legacy data flows. Design and build new, streamlined data pipelines using SQL Server and existing ETL tools. Migrate and transform data from legacy systems into more modern structures. Validate data accuracy and ensure integrity during migration. Partner with business and technical teams to understand data usage and dependencies.
