Payroll Assistant

We are seeking applicants for a Payroll Assistant to join a great company in Greensboro. This role will assist with payroll processing, timekeeping administration, employee record maintenance, and payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience working with payroll systems, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees.
• Enter and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions.
• Process garnishments, benefits deductions, direct deposits, and tax withholding updates.
• Support payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Assist in preparing payroll reports, reconciliations, and year-end documentation.
• Respond to employee payroll questions regarding paychecks, deductions, taxes, and PTO.
• Maintain payroll records and personnel files while ensuring confidentiality.
• Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate payroll-related reporting.
• Assist with W-2 processing, audits, and special payroll projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• 1+ years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience.
• Familiarity with UKG highly preferred
• Basic understanding of payroll taxes, wage laws, and payroll compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
