In 2026 we celebrate our 100th anniversary in business. We are hiring an Estimator to join our team in our Olathe, KS office. The estimator will prepare accurate, timely, and competitive bids for commercial and industrial door and loading dock systems, supporting our sales staff, and contributing to profitable sales and positive customer relationships. Knowledge and experience in construction or building materials is strongly preferred. Job Responsibilities Rapidly develop advanced proficiency in DH Pace estimating processes and procedures and utilize DH Pace estimating software as well as other business software (Excel, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, IFS, SAM, etc.). Develop advanced knowledge of door and dock related products, understanding functionality, special features, usage options, and pricing variance based on specific job needs. Understand core product lines, vendors, and labor standards. Educate sales team on product options and assist customers in product selection to ensure sale and best project outcome. Perform effective quote request review, scope creation, material list, and product selections to generate accurate project cost estimates and bids. Estimate advanced and complex projects of limited size, writing all proposals clearly and concisely for review and approval by a manager prior to customer review. Promote and maintain a positive attitude toward outside contractors, architects and individuals within the company regardless of the circumstances. Understand vendor relationships and build strong relationships with contacts. Meet or exceed annual estimating volume expectations as warranted based on experience level or length of time in the position. Manage time effectively while sustaining individual and team workloads. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Job Qualifications Experience with blueprints, plans, and specifications highly desired. Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills. Ability to manage time effectively while sustaining individual and team workloads. Ability to work overtime as required. Strong language, written, and mathematical skills. Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
