Nursing Home Administrator

Location: Berlin, New Hampshire

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: 120,000 - 130,000

Reports To: Executive Leadership

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) to oversee the daily operations of a skilled nursing/long-term care facility in Berlin, New Hampshire. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial and operational performance, staff engagement, and a positive experience for residents and their families.

We are open to candidates seeking either a full-time permanent opportunity or a contract/interim assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for facility operations.

• Ensure compliance with federal and New Hampshire regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.

• Promote a culture focused on resident dignity, safety, quality of care, and customer service.

• Lead, mentor, and support department heads and facility leadership.

• Recruit, develop, and retain qualified staff while promoting employee engagement.

• Monitor clinical, operational, financial, and quality outcomes.

• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to maintain high standards of resident care.

• Oversee survey readiness, plans of correction, and regulatory follow-up.

• Maintain effective relationships with residents, families, physicians, vendors, community partners, and regulatory agencies.

• Monitor budgets, census, staffing, expenses, and overall financial performance.

• Identify operational challenges and implement effective corrective action plans.

• Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed and updated as needed.

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

• Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

• Serve as the facility's primary operational leader and representative within the community.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Home Administrator license in New Hampshire, or eligibility to obtain/maintain licensure.

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field preferred.

• Prior experience as a Nursing Home Administrator, Assistant Administrator, or senior leader in skilled nursing/long-term care.

• Strong knowledge of CMS, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, and long-term care regulatory requirements.

• Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with survey preparation, compliance, quality improvement, staffing, and financial management.

• Ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, employees, and community stakeholders.

Contract/Interim Candidates

Candidates interested in a contract or interim assignment should have the ability to step into an operational leadership role quickly and provide stability, regulatory oversight, and effective team leadership.

Contract duration, schedule, and compensation will be determined based on experience and facility needs.
