Accounts Payable SpecialistThe Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing support for accounts payable inquiries, processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and providing professional customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesProcess supplier invoices accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.Verify invoice details, purchase orders, receipts, and approvals before processing.Resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal departments.Monitor Accounts Payable helpdesk queue and ensure timely resolution of support requests.Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status via phone or email.Process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances.Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting.Maintain organized electronic and physical records of accounts payable transactions.Support audits by providing requested documentation and information.Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and customer service.Prepare escheats reports by identifying and documenting unclaimed property in compliance with state regulations.Generate, analyze and resolve invoice Aging reports.RequirementsFive or more years of prior Accounts Payable experienceExperience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards and OracleProficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent communication, organizational and customer service skillsStrong data entry skills with high accuracy.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesMust be able to work effectively in a Shared Services team environmentA member of the S&P 500 Index, Martin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of heavy building materials – including aggregates, cement, ready-mixed concrete and asphalt.
