Operating within the Finance Department, this role reports directly to the Controller. The position provides the right candidate an excellent opportunity to learn and grow as our internal finance functions continue to develop over time.(75%) Invoicing, General Ledger Reconciliation, and ReceivablesTrack grant revenues and expenditures in the general ledger; ensure proper codingMonitor expenditures for compliance with grant agreements and eligibility requirementsReconcile grant-related accounts, identifying discrepancies and making necessary adjustments to maintain accurate financial recordsCreate and submit invoices for Public (Federal, State and City), Private Grants, other funding agencies with proper supporting documentationEnsure cost-reimbursable grants follow approved budgetsConduct follow up on invoices to confirm compliance requirements and accelerate cash collectionsReview accounts receivable aging reports regularly with the ControllerCoordinate closely with the Development and Communications Team to ensure all grant reporting deadlines are metRecommend budget modifications by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial dataEnsure all grant-related financial activities comply with federal, state, city and grantor guidelines and policiesPartner with the CFO and Controller to develop and streamline financial policies to enhance grant compliance and operational efficiency(25%) Administrative & OtherEnsure grant revenue is properly reconciled in coordination with monthly accounting close processes.Assist with grant budget development and pre-award financial reviewsDevelop, coordinate, and provide financial analysis to the Development and Public Partnerships teams for the annual budget and forecasting processes.Maintain centralized documentation of grant activities for audit purposes (including items such as time certifications and programmatic reporting).Preparing Monthly and Quarterly Financial Reports for management reviewCompile clear, comprehensive documentation to support organizational and funder auditsHandle other duties as assigned based on evolving organizational needsWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grant Accountant to join our Finance Team.
