Technical Sales Representative

Technical SalespersonFluid Flow Products serves the industrial marketplace with a comprehensive line of compressed air, filtration, measurement and control, and process equipment products and services from leading manufacturers. Our mission statement, "Adding Value to Quality Products," reflects our commitment to helping customers maximize the performance and profitability of their operations through our industry-leading technical support, service, and solutions.The Technical Salesperson will strive to grow their respective sales territory to its full potential by working closely with existing and developing new customers to uncover opportunities where they can provide impactful solutions that improve the overall efficiencies, reliability, safety, and sustainability of their respective customers' operations.Essential Functions:Meet or exceed mutually agreed upon sales forecast for a defined Southern Alabama and Florida Panhandle based geographic and product focused territory in the Industrial marketDevelop product and application skills through in-house, on-line, and factory learning modules.Develop and implement territory and product specific sales strategies.Accountable for providing "best-in-class" customer experiences in your defined territoryBuild strong relationships with clients. Once established, target 12-14 in-person sales calls per week.Work closely with the inside sales team on a daily basis to ensure alignment on priorities, proper path on all territorial activities, and participate as a team player for the benefit of the entire Fluid Flow Florida organization.Develop and close opportunities by working closely with your customer base, sales management and sales team members.Provide product and application assistance to customer base.Assist inside sales team with complex quote generation.Execute sales process following company policies, including the use of Salesforce CRM platform.Collaborate with sales team to exchange market information and successful selling strategies.Provide sales forecasts, sales reports, and present annual business plan as required by managementComply with company's travel and entertainment policy and stay within expense budget.Conforms to all company Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.Exceed the expectations of our contractual suppliers from a sales, product/application knowledge, and professionalism standpoint.Operate in a safe manner and follow all safety policies.Continuously improve your skills through feedback and guidance by the management team.Competencies:Excellent interpersonal and selling skills.Excellent presentation and communication skills.Must have or be capable of developing strong technical knowledge of the products to be sold in the territory.Strong customer service skills.Ability to communicate effectively at management, engineering, and maintenance levels.Knowledge of manufacturing process flow.Ability to work under pressure and rapidly changing priorities.Superior conceptual and organizational skills combined with a strong work ethic.Supervisory Responsibility:This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Ability to travel; ability to drive an automobile. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Exposure to high levels of heat or noise may occur while visiting in the customer plant environment. Moderate noise (i.e.: computer printers, traffic) exists daily in the work environment.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Travel:Daily travel, with some overnight requirements, is expected in this position.Required Education and Experience:High School Diploma or EquivalentMinimum 1 – 3 years of experience in industrial/municipal salesPreferred Education and Experience:BA, BS degree preferredAdditional Eligibility Qualifications:Leadership skills.Technical knowledge and strong mechanical aptitudeStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Computer skills.Must hold a valid driver's license.Extensive land and occasional air travel will be required.May be required from time to time to take and successfully complete customer-directed drug and/or alcohol testing.
