Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction

LOCATION: Comfort, TX

CONTEXT: Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist . The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes and preferably experience working in the construction industry. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reporting, payment preparation, and maintaining positive vendor relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process and code vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation.
• Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper documentation.
• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized AP records and supporting documentation.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
• Track lien waivers, subcontractor invoices, and other construction-related documentation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Support accounting and finance team with additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience required.
• Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices.
• Strong understanding of invoice coding, reconciliations, and payment processing.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
