Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer supports the procurement function across both Tongrun facilities by executing purchase orders, tracking
deliveries, and maintaining accurate purchasing records for raw material and multi-client account categories alike.
This role works in close coordination with the Raw Material Purchaser and the Purchaser to keep open orders
moving, gather supplier quotes for review, and ensure documentation and inventory records stay current. The
Buyer does not hold final supplier selection or negotiation authority; this role executes within the sourcing decisions
and vendor relationships established by the Purchasers and the Procurement Manager.
PURCHASE ORDER EXECUTION
• Prepare, issue, and process purchase orders across raw material and MRO or multi-client categories as
directed by the Purchasers and Procurement Manager
• Track open purchase orders and follow up proactively with suppliers on outstanding deliveries to prevent
shortages or production disruptions
• Maintain accurate purchase order documentation, vendor master data, and pricing records in the ERP system
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder points in coordination with the Inventory or Materials Manager and flag
items approaching minimum stock
• Assist with resolving receiving discrepancies, material non-conformances, and invoice variances by gathering
documentation for the Purchasers and accounting
SUPPLIER QUOTE SUPPORT
• Gather competitive quotes from approved suppliers for raw material, MRO, tooling, and consumable categories
as requested
• Organize and summarize supplier quote information for review by the Purchasers; this role does not finalize
vendor selection or negotiate final pricing and contract terms
• Maintain organized records of supplier quotes, open orders, and delivery commitments to support reporting and
audit needs
• Communicate proactively with suppliers on order confirmations, lead times, and shipment status under the
direction of the Purchasers
WHAT YOU BRING
• 1 or more years of purchasing, buying, or administrative support experience in a manufacturing environment
preferred

• Working knowledge of purchase order processes; familiarity with sheet metal raw materials or MRO categories
is a plus
• Proficiency with ERP or purchasing systems; JobBoss familiarity is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open orders and competing priorities
simultaneously
• Clear communicator who coordinates effectively with suppliers, the Purchasers, and internal departments
• Detail-oriented with a consistent standard for purchase order accuracy and documentation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds on an occasional basis, such as employee files,
office supplies, or training materials.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation while performing data entry, records
management, and communications tasks throughout the workday.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements including prolonged keyboard and mouse
operation as required by daily administrative responsibilities.
• Must be able to walk between office areas and the shop floor or warehouse as needed to support employee
interactions, HR activities, and operational coordination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role works primarily in an office environment. Occasional visits to the shop floor may be required, during which
appropriate PPE must be worn.
