Research Assistant

Job Overview A Research Assistant position is available in the Laboratory of Dr. Xiaoyan Zheng in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and the George Washington University Cancer Center at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The position involves assisting with experiments to identify target genes regulated by the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway and studying the mechanisms of Hh receptor trafficking. This research support role contributes to research/development by assisting with experiments in a controlled laboratory setting and performing laboratory maintenance duties. Responsibilities Assist with data collection and execution of experimental procedures related to Hh signaling research. Assist with administrative aspects of preparing manuscripts for publication. Perform laboratory maintenance duties as a secondary function. Carry out other related duties as assigned. Work under immediate supervision; primary job functions do not require independent judgment. Minimum Qualifications Doctorate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in a related discipline (degree must be conferred by the start date of the position). Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with cell-cell signaling. Strong background in molecular and cellular biology. Demonstrated experience using Drosophila or mouse as a model system. Hiring Range $20.01 - $26.39 per hour.
