Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist operates ionizing equipment to produce radiographs of body regions for diagnostic purposes, as ordered by a licensed medical provider. This role requires evaluating radiographs to acquire appropriate diagnostic information and using independent judgment to acquire optimum information for each examination performed. The successful candidate must effectively communicate with patients and an interdisciplinary health care team while following established departmental procedures and demonstrating the ability to navigate emergent situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate ionizing equipment to produce high-quality radiographs.
• Evaluate radiographs for appropriate diagnostic information.
• Utilize independent judgment during examinations to ensure optimal information is acquired.
• Communicate effectively with patients and health care team members.
• Adhere to established departmental procedures and protocols.
• Demonstrate capability in handling emergent situations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited 24-month course of study program in Radiologic Technology.
• Active Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Active Radiologic Technologist License in the State of Montana with the Board of Radiologic Technologists.
• Demonstrate evidence of compliance with ARRT continuing education requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
