Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist operates ionizing equipment to produce radiographs of body regions for diagnostic purposes, as ordered by a licensed medical provider. The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist evaluates radiographs to acquire appropriate diagnostic information. The Technologist uses independent judgment to acquire the optimum information for each examination performed. The ability to communicate effectively with patients and an interdisciplinary health care team is essential. The successful candidate must effectively follow established departmental procedures. Candidates should work efficiently and demonstrate the ability to navigate emergent situations. Graduation from an accredited 24-month course of study program in Radiologic Technology is required. Incumbents must demonstrate evidence of compliance with continuing education requirements.
