Position : Senior HR Benefits Specialist Location : Bridgewater, NJ or Sanjose CA, Plano, TX , Charlotte , NC , , Morrisville NC ,Bellevue, WA, Dublin ,OH (Any persistent location) Duration : Full time Position Summary: The Senior HR Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration, communication, compliance, and continuous enhancement of employee benefit programs across the United States and Canada. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert on benefits, partnering closely with employees, brokers, vendors, payroll, and HR stakeholders to deliver an exceptional employee experience while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: U.S. Benefits Administration Administer medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and voluntary benefit programs. Coordinate new hire benefits onboarding, including daily communications and weekly orientation sessions. Develop and maintain benefits communication materials, including booklets, summaries, FAQs, and intranet resources. Deliver employee education sessions, including Benefits Orientation and “Benefits 101: Introduction to U.S. Healthcare.” Support acquisitions and rebadges through benefits comparisons, presentations, and transition planning. Lead the annual Open Enrollment process, including planning, vendor coordination, systems testing, communications, and employee support. Partner with brokers and advocacy teams to resolve employee inquiries and improve service delivery. Maintain accurate records of enrollments, terminations, COBRA notifications, and benefits eligibility. Support 401(k) administration and participate in quarterly committee meetings. Design and execute wellness initiatives, monthly challenges, and educational webinars focused on physical, mental, and financial well-being. Monitor automated benefits file feeds and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity. Serve as a resource for leave of absence questions related to FMLA, disability, maternity leave, and state leave programs. Coordinate with leave administration vendors and monitor benefits eligibility during leaves of absence. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements. Maintain ACA reporting and support year-end 1095 reporting activities. Process life insurance claims and complete Medicare documentation as required. Participate in benefits audits and support compliance reviews Canada Benefits Administration Conduct benefits orientation sessions for new hires. Partner with brokers during renewals and ongoing benefits administration. Maintain records of new hires, terminations, and benefit elections. Coordinate payroll deductions by providing timely benefits deduction information. Participate in benefits audits and support related activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 7–10 years of progressive experience in U.S. benefits administration. Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations and best practices, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA. Experience administering self-funded healthcare plans. Familiarity with Canadian benefits administration is preferred. Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proven ability to build effective relationships with employees, vendors, brokers, and senior leaders. Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
