SHELTER VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Full-time (40 hrs/wk: Tuesday – Saturday, 8am-5pm)

The Shelter Volunteer Coordinator plays a crucial role in training & retaining volunteers to support the day-to-day operations of the shelter. This individual will be responsible for creating a positive and rewarding volunteer experience while ensuring the needs of the shelter and its animals are met.  Manages and maintains all SPCA Shelter volunteers including group volunteers, junior volunteers and community service volunteers. The Shelter Volunteer Coordinator will provide guidance, support, resources and tools to Shelter staff working alongside volunteers. Solid work history and ability to work a Tuesday -Saturday schedule, including weekends and holidays, required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, Computer literate using Google products and Microsoft Suite. Animal welfare and handling experience or prior work with a nonprofit organization and 1-2 years of experience working with volunteers is  preferred.
