Senior Interior Designer - Luxury Furniture & Showroom Design

Symbiotic Services is recruiting a Senior Interior Designer for a client in the luxury furniture and premium home furnishings industry . This is a highly visible creative role for an experienced designer who understands how to translate luxury products, craftsmanship, and brand storytelling into sophisticated physical environments and imagery .

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in luxury residential interiors, high-end commercial design, luxury furniture, hospitality, or other premium design environments . Beyond technical design expertise, this person must possess an unmistakably elevated aesthetic, sophisticated sense of style, and strong understanding of the visual language of luxury .

Portfolio Requirement: A portfolio is required for consideration and should demonstrate a clear luxury flair . Candidates should be prepared to share work showcasing sophisticated interiors, luxury furniture, premium residential or commercial environments, showroom design, styling, or other high-end design projects. The portfolio will be an important part of the selection process.

Position Summary

The Senior Interior Designer will serve as a creative owner of the company's physical luxury brand experience , responsible for the creative vision, design, execution, styling, and ongoing management of showrooms, photography environments, trade showroom partner spaces, and corporate display areas.

This individual will establish environments that showcase luxury furniture and premium products at their highest level , ensuring that furniture, lighting, textiles, artwork, accessories, finishes, and architectural elements work together to create cohesive and aspirational experiences.

The role requires both creative vision and hands-on execution . The Senior Interior Designer will take complex projects from concept and space planning through sourcing, styling, installation, and final presentation while maintaining an exceptional standard of design.

Luxury Design & Brand Experience

This role requires someone who genuinely understands luxury-not simply interior design .

The successful candidate should demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of scale, proportion, composition, color, texture, materials, lighting, styling, and visual storytelling and how those elements work together to elevate premium furniture and products.

Experience working directly with luxury furniture or high-end home furnishings is highly desirable . Candidates from luxury residential design, premium hospitality, high-end commercial interiors, luxury retail, or similarly design-driven environments may also be strongly aligned.

The designer must be comfortable making creative decisions that reinforce an elevated, aspirational brand position across showrooms, photography, customer environments, and product presentations.

Key Responsibilities
Luxury Showroom Design & Market Ownership

• Lead the design, planning, styling, and execution of High Point Market showrooms for Spring and Fall Market cycles.
• Develop sophisticated showroom concepts, floor plans, conceptual design stories, and customer journeys.
• Create furniture settings that showcase luxury furniture, materials, finishes, craftsmanship, and new product introductions in compelling ways.
• Develop accessory, lighting, artwork, textile, rug, and decorative styling plans.
• Execute prop styling and product styling to create polished, cohesive showroom displays.
• Translate product and collection stories into immersive, aspirational physical environments .
• Coordinate installation schedules, vendor partnerships, sourcing, and showroom setup.
• Partner closely with merchandising to ensure new product introductions receive appropriate visual emphasis.
• Maintain an exceptional level of detail throughout installation and final styling.

Corporate Showroom & Brand Environment

• Own the design, styling, and ongoing evolution of the corporate showroom environment.
• Ensure showroom presentations reflect current product strategy, launches, and premium brand positioning .
• Continuously refresh environments to keep presentations current, sophisticated, and visually compelling.
• Create elevated presentation spaces for customer visits, executive meetings, product reviews, and other important brand interactions.

Trade Show & Regional Showroom Design

• Design and execute trade customer showrooms and strategic design environments nationwide.
• Develop scalable design standards that preserve a consistent luxury brand experience across multiple locations.
• Adapt concepts appropriately for different spaces without compromising the overall aesthetic.
• Travel as needed for installations, walkthroughs, showroom openings, and other design initiatives.

Photography & Luxury Styling Leadership

• Own styling direction for product photography, room scenes, and lifestyle environments.
• Develop shot lists, styling plans, mood concepts, and visual storytelling strategies.
• Select and coordinate furniture, accessories, rugs, lighting, artwork, textiles, and decorative objects.
• Create imagery that communicates the quality, craftsmanship, materials, scale, and aspirational lifestyle associated with luxury furniture .
• Partner with photographers, marketing, merchandising, and other creative partners to achieve the desired brand aesthetic.
• Maintain photography styling inventory and the prop library.
• Ensure photography and room scenes consistently meet premium brand standards while supporting merchandising and sales objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional interior design experience within luxury residential, hospitality, high-end commercial, contract, furniture, or comparable premium environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex design projects from initial concept through installation and final styling.
• Experience with luxury furniture, premium home furnishings, or high-end product environments is strongly preferred .
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and/or SketchUp preferred.
• Strong space planning, furniture specification, styling, sourcing, and visual presentation capabilities.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with merchandising, marketing, vendors, photographers, installers, and other partners.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a consistently elevated aesthetic.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to balance creative vision with practical execution.

Portfolio Requirements

A portfolio is required for consideration.

Candidates should submit a portfolio that demonstrates a distinctly luxury, elevated, and sophisticated design sensibility . The strongest portfolios will include examples of luxury furniture, high-end residential interiors, premium hospitality or commercial environments, showroom design, furniture styling, photoshoot styling, or other luxury product presentations .

The portfolio should demonstrate not only attractive finished spaces but also the candidate's ability to create cohesive visual stories around premium products through furniture selection and placement, lighting, textiles, artwork, accessories, color, materiality, composition, and styling.

Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate the luxury flair and refined point of view they would bring to the brand.
