• Position: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Facility: Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE
• Unit: TMU 3D
• Start Date: 11/03/2026
• Firm End Date: March 27, 2027
• Start: Winter Order
• Shift: 12-Hour Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekly Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
• Call: None
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Floating: Yes — to areas within the nurse's acuity/competency; staff may float wherever assigned by Staffing
• Patient Ratio: 1:3 to 1:4
• Unit Size: 31–40 beds
• Charting: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Clinical Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience — no exceptions.
• Strong progressive-care experience with high-acuity medical, respiratory, and cardiac patients.
• Experience caring for patients with:
  • COPD
  • Pneumonia
  • Acute/chronic respiratory failure
  • CHF
  • Cardiac disorders
  • GI disorders
  • Kidney disease
  • ETOH withdrawal
  • Ventilator dependency

Special Procedures / Clinical Skills

• Management and monitoring of patients with chronic ventilators and tracheostomies
• Care of patients with chest tubes
• Management of feeding tubes
• Care following or associated with endobronchial valve replacement
• Continuous monitoring of high-acuity respiratory and cardiac patients
• Recognition and escalation of changes in respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic status
