Job Description Job Description Bookkeeper | Burley Building Co. | Berlin, MD $20-$30/hr | Part-time with Full-Time Potential | In-Person Burley Building Co. is a family-owned construction company rooted in the Berlin community. We do good work, take care of our clients, and take care of our team. We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk who thrives in a small office environment and wants to grow with a company that values them. This role is a great fit if you're someone who takes pride in clean books, communicates well with clients, and likes knowing your work directly supports a team building real things in the community. To start this is a full-time position. We are open to a 3-day-per-week schedule in the future once we build a strong and reliable working relationship. What You'll Be Doing * Preparing and sending accurate invoices through QuickBooks Online * Maintaining the QuickBooks / Buildertrend integration * Preparing weekly payroll reports * Monitoring A/R aging reports and following up with clients on outstanding balances * Reconciling customer accounts and resolving billing discrepancies * Processing payments via check and electronic transfer * Keeping detailed records of collections activity and account adjustments * Collaborating with our in-office team * Handling client inquiries professionally — by phone and email — including occasional collections conversations * Processing mail, filing paperwork, and helping maintain organized office systems * Collecting employee hours from time sheets and labor report * Maintain records on individual projects in Quickbooks and excel spearsheet to maintain awareness of individual job profitability. What We're Looking For * 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (required) * Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software * Solid grasp of bookkeeping fundamentals — debits/credits, double-entry, account reconciliation * Experience in construction accounting is a real plus * Comfortable with Microsoft Office and accurate data entry * Strong communicator — professional on the phone, clear in writing, steady under pressure * Organized, self-directed, and reliable * Bilingual candidate who speaks English/Spanish would be a plus Why Burley Building Co.?
