Duration: Long Term Contract Shift: Monday-Friday core business hours Clearance: DoD TS/SCI Contact: If interested, please send updated WORD resume, desired hourly rate, and best time to speak to [email protected] Description The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring existing and new systems within the National Military Command Center. The role involves working with a team of other systems engineers and system administrators to resolve issues, implement patches, updates, and report progress to supervisor and stakeholders. You will document work in the Remedy ticketing system, maintain schedules/timelines for required work, and collaborate with other teams such as system administration, multimedia engineers, telecommunications engineers, and more. You may be called to brief status updates or present problems and solutions to government and DOD personnel, explaining technical issues to non-technical personnel professionally. Responsibilities include developing schedules, producing documentation, SOPs, reports, and presentation slide decks, and drafting/reviewing Engineering Installation Plans for IT requirements supporting the NMCC. Basic Qualifications IAT Level II Certification: at least one of Security+ CE (Preferred), CCNA‑Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP. BS Degree in Information Technology and 8 years of work experience can be substituted for the degree. Experience with Secure Technical Implementation Guidance hardening practices. Experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat and CentOS). Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other highly skilled and diverse individuals. Extensive experience with VMware deployments, including migration of VMs from Hyper‑V to VMware, building a comprehensive VMware solution from start to finish, using advanced features such as High Availability and Fault Tolerance. Extensive experience managing Windows Server 2022 and 2019 domain environments, including AD, Group Policy, etc. Responsibilities At the present time we are working on a large scale. Requirements Management priorities and plans can change quickly for the Systems Administration team, requiring high adaptability and problem‑solving skills. System Engineers must possess a wide variety of skills; the most essential tools are VMware and Veeam Backup & Replication, crucial for troubleshooting servers hosted on the VMware platform and backed up by Veeam. Responsibilities also include: Test automation: develop, execute, and document test plans, schedules, and scripted tasks to maintain the highest level of system protection and availability. Diagnose and resolve server and application issues systematically, documenting solutions for recurring issues and developing an internal knowledge base. Preferred Qualifications Extensive experience building and managing VMware environments. Extensive experience building/testing Group Policy. Close collaboration with cybersecurity teams to harden systems according to DISA guidelines and best practices.
