HHM Talent is assisting a client in their search for an Assistant Controller to support the CFO.Position OverviewThe Assistant Controller will support the CFO and the company's day-to-day accounting operations across four separate entities. This role will be responsible for preparing financial statements, completing month-end close, maintaining the general ledger, managing intercompany transactions and leading a small accounting team.The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, experience creating financial statements, and a flexible, team-oriented mindset. This person should be willing to learn each accounting function, including AP, AR, and Payroll, so they can provide backup support when needed.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare financial statements for four separate entitiesManage and support a team of three accounting professionalsHandle intercompany transactions between entitiesAssist with month-end close processesPerform account reconciliationsMaintain the general ledgerPrepare and review journal entriesAssist with audit preparation and audit requestsLearn AP, AR, and payroll functions to provide backup supportAssist the CFO with additional accounting and operational duties as neededQualificationsBachelor 's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experienceExperience creating financial statements strongly preferredExperience with multiple entities and intercompany transactionsStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closePayroll experience preferredSage 100 experience preferredAbility to manage, support, and develop a small accounting teamFlexible and adaptable approach to learning processes and supporting the teamStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-throughAbility to work closely with leadership and support the CFO as neededBenefitsCompensation range of $100k - $125kMedical and dental insurance through CignaLife insurance401(k) with 3% safe harbor non-elective contribution after one year10 days of PTO after one year
