Pharmacy Tech | Henrico, Virginia

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed in both Virginia and Maryland to serve as a traveling liaison between pharmacy operations and long-term care facilities. This role involves frequent travel throughout assigned territories in Maryland and Virginia, including locations such as Alexandria, Richmond, Hampton, and beyond.


Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong relationships with facility leadership and staff, acting as the main point of contact to understand and meet client needs, and ensuring compliance with medication therapy and regulatory standards. The technician will provide onsite support including monthly visits, training sessions, medication cart inspections, and survey preparation. Collaboration with internal pharmacy teams is essential to coordinate seamless services and address client inquiries effectively. Flexibility for occasional later audits and overnight stays is expected.


Key qualifications and desired experience:

• Pharmacy Technician licenses in Virginia and Maryland (required)
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification (highly preferred)
• Background in long-term care pharmacy is preferred
• Working knowledge of pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, and Frameworks
• Reliable transportation for travel to assigned facilities, with willingness to stay overnight when needed

Schedule and location details:

• Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, approximately 40 hours per week
• Rarely required to work weekends
• Travel throughout various facility sites within Maryland and Virginia

This travel/field position offers an opportunity to impact medication management and client satisfaction across multiple healthcare facilities. Mileage and hotel accommodations related to travel will be covered by the employer.
