Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines; Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas; Ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times
• Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keeps trailers clear and clean as required *All Firestone vehicles are smoke free
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; Ensures all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch
• Transfers materials to and from local offsite storage operations
• Conducts weekly deliveries to Firestone Walker locations
• Utilizes forklift to safely load or unload materials off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, etc.
• Assists with orders on campus by moving kegs, cases of beer, and other inventory items as needed
• Moves controls, devices, and levers to drive forklift to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas
• Reports any damage to racks, equipment, forklift, or any other safety hazards
• Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods
• Follows all Firestone Walker safety rules and policies
• Other duties as needed

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

• 4/10 Schedule Working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday Mornings with a 5AM Start
• 5/8 Schedule Working Monday-Friday Afternoons with a 3PM Start

Qualifications

Education and / or experience:

• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent
• Valid CDL A
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize pallet jack/forklift, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift

Additional Skills:

• Language: Ability to effectively communicate verbally. Ability to read labels and numbers. Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer: Ability to operate and use a PC computer, ability to clock time worked and review and approve timecard each pay period and access necessary employee systems.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work under pressure and multitask. Dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly. Ability to work varying schedules to meet changing needs including late hours. Team player with the ability to get along well with co-workers.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 150 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must have good eye/hand coordinate and motor skills.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a warehouse setting. The noise level is moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to solvents such as acetone. They may also be in a box truck driving or driving on a forklift.

• Forklift, pallet jack, box truck, 80K GVW tractor and 53' trailers
