What this role is all about Performs a variety of routine functions in support of banquet events. Sets up and breaks down banquet rooms per guest specifications and performs side work as assigned. Reads banquet event orders and sets room according to guest specifications including cleaning of rooms and setting up equipment and break stations. What you’ll be doing Qualifications and Requirements: Ability to push/pull carts weighing approximately 75-100 pounds Ability to lift and move approximately 100 pounds Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb and reach Ability to perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time Ability to operate and control heavy equipment Must be able to work a flexible schedule, AM/PM shifts, and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure that the Hotel’s property is handled and stored properly Reports any damage or breakage immediately to supervisors Responsible for the set-up and breakdown of all meetings and banquet food functions as instructed Responsible for all cleanup procedures as instructed Responsible for the removal and storage of any and all equipment and/or furnishings throughout the Hotel All set-up personnel are expected to work and cooperate with the Banquet Manager and the Banquet Captains/Supervisors Handles equipment with care, and maintains a clean storage area, and ensures all equipment is in good repair All set-up personnel are expected to be familiar with all possible set-ups and layouts Responsible for following all rules and regulations set forth by the Banquet Dept. as well as the Employee Handbook To perform other work-related duties as assigned by Management Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information How we reward you At Sonesta, we know showing up for our guests starts with showing up for our people.
