This faith based, not for profit system has several hospitals in one of the largest metropolitan areas of Texas. They are consistently listed in U.S. News & World Report’s best hospitals, and they also have a leading academic medical center that is home to some of the world’s brightest physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals. They are opening a new hospital within the system and need a tenured Director of Case Management to join the team.

The campus will open in Spring of 2025 starting with 50 beds, then 100, then expanding to over 270+ beds. This Director will be responsible for the strategy, function and operations of the Case Management, Utilization Review, and the Social Work department. This position is an integrated, interprofessional role which supports caregivers to provide the highest quality, most clinically appropriate care to patients while promoting the most cost-effective utilization of the hospital's resources.

This person will start with six FTEs that are a mix of nurses and social workers, and hire additional staff as the hospital expands as well. This person will report to the Chief Finance Officer, who has been with this system for over sixteen years! He’s described as outgoing, laid back, while being very democratic. Salary: The salary midpoint for this role is $150k based on years of experience, education, and scope of services.

Requirements:

• RN Licensure required, Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Master’s degree required in healthcare related field.
• 3+ years of experience in acute care hospital case management, social work, or utilization review required.
• Director level experience required.
• Knowledge of hospital case management, discharge planning, transition of care, transfer coordination.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of a comprehensive care program.
