The Staff Accountant contributes directly to financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement, ensuring reliable data for decision-making and operational support across the network. TL;DR Role: Early Career Location: Remote - Burlington, VT Mission: This role ensures financial accuracy and provides essential analytical support for the UVM Health Network. What You’ll Actually Do Support UVM Health Network partners with training, assistance, and guidance. Prepare diverse recurring and non-recurring journal entries, financial reports, and analyses for statements and intercompany activities. Analyze general ledger accounts and department cost centers, reviewing financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness. Conduct in-depth analyses of revenue and expense variances, explaining changes, interpreting trends, and projecting future impacts for management. Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to prepare for all audits. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. This is an entry-level role. Experience: No prior experience is required if the individual possesses a four-year Accounting degree. Skills: Confident, articulate, and professional written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of many areas of the Balance Sheet; ability to perform detailed analyses of general ledger accounts and cost centers; initiative to improve processes and efficiencies.
