Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• Work as a Float Pool RN covering multiple medical-surgical units throughout the hospital
• Shift times: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (nights) or 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (days)
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Patient ratios: Days 1:4-6, Nights 1:6
• Float to MS1 General Medical Surgical, MS2 Ortho/Neuro, MS2 Cardiac, and ER Holding/Boarding
• Care for oncology patients (no chemo administration), surgical patients, general medical conditions
• Handle cardiac post-procedure patients, orthopedic patients, and neurological patients
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Skills required: chest tubes, stable trach management, IV skills, port/central lines, CPAP/BiPAP knowledge, foley care, feeding tubes, cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, argatroban (manager approval required if no experience)
• EPIC experience required
• Minimum 2 years med-surg experience required
• One full shift orientation plus 12-hour unit orientation
• Schedule made 4-6 weeks in advance with 2 weeks notice
• May work 50% of holidays during contract
• Dress code: any solid color scrubs, professional appearance only
• No on-call requirements

This medical center is a 101-licensed bed facility serving as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The healthcare organization provides comprehensive medical services with 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, and remote telemetry monitoring. The facility maintains a traveler-friendly culture with strong teamwork atmosphere and offers modern equipment including EPIC EMR system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing.
