About the job Senior Oracle Database Administrator Role: Senior Oracle Database Administrator Location: St. Louis, MO (Onsite) Preferred within 50 miles 10 + years of experience Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, performance, and reliability of mission-critical Oracle database environments, including Exadata systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Oracle Database Management Oversee the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases across production, test, and development environments.
- Patch Management & Upgrades Plan and execute Oracle database patching, version upgrades, and migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to compliance standards.
- Exadata Administration Manage and support Oracle Exadata systems, including cell servers, storage servers, and Infiniband networks, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Performance Tuning Monitor, diagnose, and resolve performance issues through in-depth analysis, query optimization, and resource management.
- Backup & Recovery Design, implement, and test robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard to ensure data integrity and disaster readiness.
- Security & Compliance Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with organizational policies and industry standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
- Automation & Scripting Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks, monitoring, and reporting using Shell, PL/SQL, and other tools.
- High Availability & DR Design and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate as applicable.
- Monitoring & Alerting Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively identify and address database performance and availability issues.
- Collaboration & Mentoring Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors; provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs.
