Accounting Assistant Manager

The Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting and overseeing accounting and financial operations within a manufacturing facility specializing in industrial battery production. This role helps ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, effective cost accounting practices, inventory valuation, and strong internal controls. The Accounting Assistant Manager partners with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to support financial performance and strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Develop, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff to maintain a high-performing finance organization.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Analyze financial results and provide recommendations regarding profitability, operational efficiency, and cost reduction opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
• Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
• Oversee standard costing, product costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation methodologies.
• Manage inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiencies, production yields, scrap, and inventory variances.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve cost visibility and manufacturing performance.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and support audit requirements.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and corporate policies.
• Ensure proper documentation and retention of accounting records.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Support ERP system implementation, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leverage financial systems and reporting tools to enhance decision-making and operational visibility.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Human Resources to support business objectives.
• Provide financial guidance for capital expenditures, manufacturing projects, and operational investments.
• Participate in strategic initiatives to improve productivity, inventory management, and profitability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English required.
