Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / CVU

Location

Omaha, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Onsite | Shifts: 0630–1900 / 1830–0700 | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level cardiac and vascular nursing care for patients including post-surgical, downgraded CVICU, CHF, A-fib RVR, CVA, and cath lab patients
• Titrate drips including amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, cardizem, and other blood pressure management medications
• Monitor, read, and interpret telemetry strips independently; unit utilizes both hardwired and telebox capabilities with remote tele tech support
• Support thoracic, electrophysiology, cath lab, and structural heart programs within the unit
• Collaborate with on-site hospitalists, intensivists, and on-call cardiology teams to deliver continuous patient care
• Float to units of same or lower acuity level as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a cardiac stepdown or equivalent cardiac/vascular patient population
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Artificial nails are prohibited; compliance with facility fingernail policy is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience supporting thoracic surgery, EP procedures, or structural heart programs
• Familiarity with BiPAP and CPAP respiratory equipment in a monitored care setting
• Prior experience in a unit utilizing remote telemetry monitoring technology
