RN - Emergency Department (ER/ED)

The 48-bed (60 care space) Emergency Department and tertiary referral center provide care for various acuities, conditions, and age ranges. Nursing ratios vary based on care area and acuity of patients (typically 1:4). May be required to work some mids (1500 - 0300); would never cycle off nights into a mid-shift.

Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC

Weekends required: 3 shifts in a 4 week period

Unit details: Board certified ED attending in house 24/7; Level 2 Peds STEMI and Stroke facility

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs: NO

Locals Accepted: NO (candidate must be more than 100 miles from facility)

Pending license accepted: Yes, but if license is not IN HAND at the time of submission then traveler will be booked six weeks out.

RTO restrictions: Up to 5 days of RTO permitted. RTO must be submitted with application. Additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion.

Scrubs: MANDATORY - RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back. Information on how to obtain Nebraska Medicine branded scrubs will be shared once traveler is confirmed. Facility also sells gray T-shirts that can be worn in their company store.

Travel Compliance

• All contracts to end on SUNDAY. Work week Monday-Sunday.
• Pending Nebraska RN State License accepted
• Allied licensing takes up to 8 weeks
• Do not sub for Radiology or Resp with license hits
• Locals: NOT accepted; 100 miles
• First time travelers: NO
• Charting: EPIC required
• RTO: must be included at time of submission. No RTO during first week of orientation.
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Unit dependent; see JD.
• Doc Due Date: Tier 2 - Tuesday prior to start - 4 PM CST
• Labs: Must go into labs within 48-72 hours from accepting offer.
