Job Description:

• Client TV Engagement Optimization Lead — Live Sports and Entertainment
• The requisite impact of this role on both Client TV as a platform and Client TV as a service will be significant.
• In working cross-functionally with client’s product, analytics, and editorial teams, candidates will guide tactics for content presentation on client’s platform toward effective ends, constantly asking all of us to examine whether a given editorial effort — personalized or hand-curated — was effective in driving viewership, with performance data at the ready to guide what client do next, both in the short and long term.
• The breadth of this role is varied, and it will require the ability to advance multiple actions across multiple stakeholders, often against very tight timelines dictated by the speed of client’s efforts in original content and live sports writ large.
• A dogged attention to detail, style, the art client serves, and the artistry of those who serve it will be absolutely essential.

• As part of client’s global TV team, candidates will be responsible for measuring and driving efficacy to increase TV content engagement on TV App — with a particular focus on client’s expanding live sports portfolio.
• Candidates will also have a keen eye on the broader full TV App merchandizing efficiency, ensuring that client is constantly optimizing with a focused test and learn approach.

Key Areas of Focus:

• Engagement metrics: Tracking and monitoring of key engagement metrics and leading indicators, maintaining dialogue with client’s business, product, and analytics teams to ensure optimized engagement today and prudent roadmap choices tomorrow
• KPIs: Responsible for driving improvement in impression to tap and impression to play rates for Client TV, including live and on-demand sports content
• Exec communications: Build Keynotes and additional resources for business reviews
• Competitive intelligence: Work to stay current on viewership-driving tactics employed by other services in the space, with emphasis on how competitors’ package and surface live sports
• Manage cross-functional relationships and a variety of projects and initiatives with minimal direction
• Present analyses and recommendations to senior executives

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in an analytical role, ideally for a subscription business, with clear evidence and a track record of drawing business insights and recommendations from detailed analysis of content presentation or content management approaches
• Knowledge and passion for streaming services UI and products, as well as tactics used to drive engagement — including within live sports environments
• A love for Sports, and genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for the streaming and entertainment industry as a whole
• Experience working with or analyzing engagement data tied to professional team sports — such as globally beloved club-based sports with passionate, season-long fan communities — is strongly valued
• Familiarity with the unique engagement rhythms of bat-and-ball sports, where a long regular season, statistical depth, and devoted fandom create distinct content and merchandising opportunities
• Understanding of premium, event-driven motorsport properties, where race weekends, international broadcast windows, and a rapidly growing global fanbase demand a differentiated approach to content presentation and audience activation
• Strong analytical and creative problem solver who is data-driven, flexible, able to change directions quickly, and understands the nature of a fast-evolving, high-profile business
• Strong experience with and commitment to cross-functional collaboration; interpersonally savvy
• Comfort with synthesizing data into strategic recommendations and compelling slide presentations to senior executives
• Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have successfully led significant cross-functional initiatives in a large, complex organization, juggling the perspectives and inputs of a wide variety of key partners and collaborators
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, leading through influence toward alignment and execution in a highly matrixed organization
• Ability to think strategically on critical business needs, and to simultaneously act tactically — and tactfully — to complete them
• Proven track record of cultivating action collaboratively, both day-to-day and broadly across product development cycles
• Experience translating sports rights or live event data into actionable editorial and product recommendations that measurably improve fan engagement
• MBA preferred

Notes: 

• Third party channels, program it, how the overall platform is performing, center of product, marketing and studio teams provides data insights to how to make decisions. 
• Understanding of how to think through a data problem - What kind of data would you look for, you have to go out and ask for it.  
• Working with internal data analytics team on platform data.    

Overview of project/day-to-day responsibilities:

• Business Analyst – TV take ownership of dashboard and develop a system that is external facing cross functional teams, supports the sports team, analysis support. Navigate the unknown of Apple and connect the dots 
• Top three skillsets:
• #1 - Data analyst skills and working with data. Training and statistics, light understanding handling data. Not going to require extensive. Informing strategy. Helps with the translation 
• #2 – working cross functionally – working with multiple sources.  
• #3 – some interest in video and sports good to have. Video a must, sports is a nice to have.  
• Preferred to have experience that have worked at Apple before.  
• Analytically software, Excel, MS, Keynote is very important, Tableau would be nice to have 
• Data storytelling, translate to So what? Would be very nice. A key element to this role.  
• Extension/Conversion: Potential for extension 
• Team culture – Teams are cohesive and really good people. Ready to help – the team will be very excited to have them on board. Part of the team. That team has a lot of experience and very nice. Good culture of supporting. Move fast but everyone jumps in to help out. Working like a mini start up – very new to the company. Just now developed who they are and what they are responsible for. A close team and support each other quite a bit. Not micromanaging though. Innovative in your approach, no one will be there to hold your hand...need to be proactive, anticipate the next thing, think ahead. Weekly meeting.

Job Requirements  

• Hard skills:  Data analyst skills and working with data. Be able to tell a story from the data. 
• Soft skills: Build relationship and work a high-pressure situation. Tight deadlines, quick turnaround. Weekend work occassional. Fast paced environment, pivot quickly. Build dashboards to access data with help of data analytics team and pull insights quickly.  
• Years of Experience: 5- 7 years’ experience (nothing less) 
• Education/Certifications: BA required, MBA preferred.
