Technical Business Analyst Job Summary The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) is seeking aTechnical Business Analyst. The business analyst will provide aprimary role in the design and support of research applications andwill not be involved in data analysis or retrieval. The primaryapplications, the Electronic Research Integrity & Compliance(ERICA) System and Business Relationship Reporting (BRR), aredeveloped from the Huron Click Research Suite for use in Conflictof Interest (COI) and Institutional Review Board (IRB). This roleis centered on software development, with no duties related to dataanalysis or architecture. This role partners with business stakeholders, end users, anddevelopers to analyze operations, document and communicaterequirements, translate user needs into user stories and technicalspecifications, and create process flows and other projectdocumentation that support solution design and delivery. Inaddition to requirements and analysis work, this position may alsocreate and modify technical forms, configure system functionality,and implement low-code or similar technical solutions to meetbusiness needs. The Technical Business Analyst plays an important role throughoutthe system development lifecycle, from discovery and design throughtesting, training, and deployment, and applies independent judgmentto help align technical solutions with business and complianceneeds. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effectivecommunication abilities, a solid understanding of financial and/orresearch administration systems, and the ability to translatecomplex business needs into technical requirements. Responsibilities Translate product vision into detailed specifications for thedevelopment team. Align information technology systems with business operationsby analyzing and developing innovative solutions Engage end users and stakeholders to document and communicateorganization requirements. Translate organization requirements and user needs into userstories. Create and update documentation of detailed technicalspecifications and project plans. Present user requirements, functional specifications, technicalspecifications, and process flow diagrams to the developmentteam. Participate in meetings to clarify requirements, create designapproaches, provide training, and answer questions from thedevelopment team. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conduct work assignments of increasing complexity, undermoderate supervision with some latitude for independentjudgement. Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).
