Material Planner

About the role The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring coordination and release of components required to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Also responsible for developing procedures and supporting systems to optimize inventory levels, tracking containers, meeting all packaging needs and optimizing freight. Responsibilities Material planning activities required to support production demand and satisfy customer requirements. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and integrity in accordance with department goals and objectives. Ensure designated storage location using FIFO principles for all material. Provide customer support both internally and externally when dealing with a majority of customers based overseas. Perform to all quality systems standards. Support and drive continuous improvement activities to positively affect the profitability of the Company. Adhere to safety and housekeeping principles. Qualifications High school diploma required and some college preferred (Two years formal education or related experience). Minimum of three years Materials/Logistics experience. Knowledge of SAP, MRP and Lean Manufacturing required. International material planning experience preferred.
