Facilities Manager (Full Time) Department: Maintenance/Facilities Pay: $57,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year Job Description: The Facilities Manager provides leadership and oversight for facilities maintenance, campus infrastructure, vendor management, and facility-related capital planning. This position ensures the safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operation of Benedictine’s Ridgely campus. The Facilities Manager supervises maintenance staff, manages contractors, coordinates projects, and supports long-term facility improvement initiatives. This role combines strategic planning and operational leadership with hands‑on involvement in daily maintenance needs. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and as needed Location: Ridgely, Maryland Classification: Exempt Hire, supervise, and provide leadership to campus facilities maintenance staff. Oversee the maintenance, construction, improvement, and repair of campus buildings and grounds. Coordinate facility projects with department managers to ensure work is understood, properly scheduled, and completed with minimal impact on program operations. Ensure landscaping, preventive maintenance, lighting, and other routine maintenance services are completed on schedule. Solicit bids from contractors and obtain required approvals for final contracts. Collaborate with organizational leadership and the Board of Directors to develop and manage facilities maintenance and capital budgets. Review and inspect contracted work to ensure quality, accuracy, and completion. Work alongside maintenance staff to assist with daily maintenance needs. Manage the facility work-order system, assign tasks, monitor workloads, and report identified concerns to leadership. Maintain facility safety standards in compliance with local, state, federal, and insurance requirements. Participate in the weekly on-call schedule and ensure appropriate coverage for equipment failures and weather‑related emergencies. Coordinate required facility inspections, including boiler, health, fire, water, and sewer inspections. Participate in the Board of Directors’ Facilities Committee and other committees or organizational initiatives as assigned. Cooperate with Benedictine administration and regulatory agencies during inspections and investigations. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous commercial facilities management experience in a similarly sized, multi‑building facility is required. Previous supervisory experience is required. Prior experience developing, projecting, and managing a departmental budget is required. Working knowledge of facility systems and trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, security, and grounds maintenance. Functional computer skills, including word processing, maintenance management systems or applications, and Microsoft Excel. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Must be at least 21 years old. Must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States. Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening, criminal background checks through CJIS as required under Family Law Article 5‑561, and CPS clearance. Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and meet Benedictine’s vehicle insurance requirements. Must be able to lift or push up to 50 pounds and perform the physical responsibilities of the position. Must support and demonstrate a strong commitment to Benedictine’s mission and values.
