Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Contract Position

This position offers 8-hour shifts with options for day, afternoon, midnight, and weekend schedules. Shifts are structured as follows:

• 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
• Combination shifts: 2 days of 12 hours and 2 days of 8 hours (e.g., 6 AM - 6:30 PM)

Job Description

We are seeking a certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will provide coverage in microbiology and clinical laboratories, performing tests in hematology, coagulation, chemistry, and urinalysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, and microbiology.
• Assist with processing samples and performing phlebotomy as needed.
• Utilize LIS systems for efficient data management and reporting.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Participate in morning rounds and assist with outpatient overflow.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-throughput laboratory environment.
• Must be MLT or MLS certified through ASCP or AMT.
• West Virginia state licensure as MLT or MLS is required.
• BLS certification is not required but is preferred.
