Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. The Material Handler will also be responsible for operating material handling equipment and ensuring that all safety procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming materials for the production floor.
• Store materials in designated locations.
• Pick and pack materials for shipment.
• Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Follow all safety procedures.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• US Citizenship.

Work Environment

The Material Handler will work in a warehouse environment and outside areas which may include exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors. The position may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods of time. The Material Handler may also be required to work overtime or on weekends as needed. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 5:30am to 2pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
