Transportation Specialist

Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position on 1st shift Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30p m. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled. Transportation Specialist - Holland, MI Responsible for shipping, carrier relations, order management and customer service. Assure prompt, accurate, and systematic handling of finished goods while providing outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Accountable to manage Michigan DSD branches demand for product by running truck build, printing daily pick tickets and manage timely processing of STO’s from shipment to receipt. Track all loads shipping on SPLK and common carriers. Track on time processes to manage efficiencies, communicating root cause analysis when below target and participate in efficiencies review & development. Coordinate and manage relationship with supplying plants to facilitate in-stock status and timely receipts. Assist branches with follow-up or general delivery inquiries. Work closely with warehouse staff & inventory personnel. Align all activity to audit guidelines ensuring SOX compliance relative to shipping. When necessary, cross-train and participate in other aspects of the business. Assist with new approaches/procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiencies & effectiveness of the department Maintain all Transport driver records to ensure DOT compliance. Assist with driver safety training Order supplies as needed. Total Rewards Pay Range $23.00 - $26.00 per hour Where Applicable Benefits eligible day one!! Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated & able to multi-task. Experience in SAP and Mastery Dispatch preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Occasionally may lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
